How I started traveling with my Mum
Traveling is something I always wanted to do, but it stayed just a dream for a long time. We were not a rich family when I was a child. Actually, there were some years, when we were struggling and lived from month to month. We had only one summer family vacation during my childhood and my Mom had a trip to Turkey once. It may sound strange, because traveling is much easier today. There are more options, also cheap ones, but it was different back then. I started to travel quiet late. I’m not sure, but I think I was about 25 when I could travel more within Hungary and about 27 when I first went abroad.

Growing up in the village, in a beautiful county, but always wished for traveling. It’s never too late.
The first trip abroad
My first trip abroad was just a really short one to a neighbour country. I grew up in Hungary and lived in Budapest for a few years. My first trip to another country was from the Hungarian Esztergom to the Slovakian Sturovo. The distance between these two is only about 2 kms. We didn’t even have to take any transport to get abroad. We just simply walked through the bridge between the two towns. I was happy to make it and I was sure that I don’t want to stop visiting other countries.
So, it was my first trip abroad, but let’s get back to how I started traveling with my Mum. The older I got, the more I became sure that I do want more experiences, more programmes with my Mum. I just had the feeling that I want us to spend time together as long as we can. Traveling is one of the best experiences to share. And the good thing is that she also loves traveling.

Traveling with my Mum
To be honest, people are often surprised that I regularly travel with my Mom. Some think that I didn’t grow up or I cannot exist on my own and I don’t have my own life. In the meantime… Actually, my Mom and I, we don’t even live in the same country. Yet, we decided to find the way to discover new places together. And we are happy about it and always excited about the next trip. And why did I start writing about my own first trip abroad? Because the first foreign country we visited together was the same forign place that I first visited with my friends. Yes, I went back to Sturovo also with my parents later and spend a beautiful sunny day together. It was the very first time to travel with my Mum to another country.

Life is short. Don’t hesitate. Grab your backpack and let”s go, because traveling is one of the best experiences to share.
If you feel the similar, don’t hesitate. Travel with your family and these memories will last forever. Remember: Traveling is one of the best experiences to share.
